• (5)   = bad lighting way, should be improved very much
• (4)   = very bad way of lighting, should be replanned

The 4th Annual Viva-Lite full spectrum light conference was hold in Budapest, Hungary on the 18th of June, 2011. Viva-Lite partners from around the world met shortly to discuss latest research and studies on full-spectrum lighting usage.

The partners shared case studies from many different countries from people who have found benefit from full-spectrum light in their lives.

Viva-Lite has long been at the forefront of full-spectrum lighting technology and this conference saw the launch of the first real full spectrum daylight LED series in the world, amongst other innovations.

the Sounding Dome Sauna

The sauna incorporates a soundscape created for it by the American sound artist Shawn Decker. The sauna’s world of sounds changes with the temperature and the humidity – once you throw water on the sauna stove, the sauna’s world of sounds will change. The sounds will emerge from the ”tops” of the garlic. The sauna is located in the historical Kupittaa Park in the outdoor swimming pool area opened in 1912.

The lighting of the sauna is also very special. There is an indirect full spectrum daylight LED lamps, only 13 W. See the picture and  read more.

The water oasis in Finland’s oldest and largest city park, Kupittaa Park, has three swimming pools and the visitors can enjoy a 27 C-degree-warm swimming water.  The Museum Centre of Turku is responsible for turning up the heat.

Viva-Lite partners AD-Lux were responsible for the full-spectrum lights throughout the house and reported from the opening party that under the Viva Lite lamps the colors of the house are real and beautiful.

I ordered a couple of Viva-Lite lamps for experimenting and did some interesting observations. There is a renovation going on in all rooms of the house. I´ve changed conventional energy saving lamps into Viva-Lites in some rooms using same wattages. Now after some weeks I realize that without even thinking of it I automatically go in a daylight room when reading the drawings. That also happens although the actual working place is in another room…

Also the ladies of the house do their make-up in a bathroom with Viva-Lite lighting, although the space there is very limited because of the renovation. Normally ladies seldom use this smaller bathroom, but the bigger – but there is still the conventional lighting.

It seems obvious to me that Viva-Lite lighting is a lot better than the old one – we use rooms with Viva-Lite even if it´s not the easiest way for us. – 1.10.2010, Pekka, Finland

Thank you for the feedback. Similar observation we have from the Zoo in Helsinki. There were two identical cages and a tunnel between them. The other was lighted with full spectrum light and the other with conventional light. The apes begun to live in the daylight cage. If the daylight is good enough for the apes, why not also for us? – AD-Lux Oy

Daylight in a kitchen at Kuopio housing fair

I have evaluated the lighting of the all houses at the Kuopio housing fair. Here is the short English resumé with 75  pictures. Totally there are 600 pictures at the AD-Lux internet pages. Find there the best solutions. Here is the video from the daylight house.

In my evaluation every lighting solution has got a school degree, from 4  to  10.  It seems  that the evaluation has been very stringent. The average was only 6,8.  Bad lighting way, which should be improved very much, got five houses. The best was 8,7.  In 90 %  of  houses the lighting was too blending. Only in one house the colors were seen as naturally as in real daylight.
